Unearthing Tuff in the Eastern Sierras
Looming large at nearly 8k above sea level, Mammoth Lakes, CA, is nestled among the Eastern Sierras, surrounded by miles of volcanic stone that defines 'gravel' in the area. Despite the high altitude, Hammerhead ambassadors Amanda Nauman and Dave Sheek remain rooted firmly in the belief that gravel riding is for everyone.
With three distances to choose from, riders take on either the Tuff (~40 miles), Tuffer (~75 miles), or Tuffest (~105 miles) course - allowing them to take full control of their two-wheeled weekend experience.
While bringing the gravel community together, Sheek and Nauman also look to honor the land they ride on and intend to help preserve it for future generations. 10% of entry fees go directly towards the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management. All race participants pledge to Leave No Trace.
